[i]Year of the Dog[/i] fails on so many levels. It's hard to relate to the characters because they're all such caricatures that it's nearly impossible to take them seriously. The early promise of a nice relationship between Molly Shannon's character and her dog is quickly destoryed (leading to the movie's only touching moment), and after that, there's really nowhere for the movie to go.
The few funny moments are wasted because they just aren't funny or frequent enough to save this movie. Don't waste your time on this.
