A movie that avoids going mainstream at every step of the way.
Year of the dog side steps prettymuch every cliche you can imagine. It starts as a light hearted romp through an animal lovers eyes and slowly turns alot deeper.
Molly Shannon brings a fine performance, you beleive wht she's going through everyste of the way and even if the movie kinda gets semi depressing by the third act you still come away with a lot of affection for the movie.
It's not the best movie of the year, but it was a refreshing change of pace with some notable performances all round.
