Review of Year of the Dog (2007) by Jeremy S — 13 Mar 2008
I suppose not many people can relate to this movie like I can, but it is a surprising reflection of my life. No, I have never hidden in anyone's closet with a knife, but for the most part this film could be the story of my life.
I was happy to see a movie portray animal rights activists as real people with a legitimate basis for what they (we) believe. I was also impressed with the depth and sensitivity of this film. Considering how unjustly animals are treated can be a harrowing experience, one that could potentially push you over the edge.
This happens to the character in the movie, but I like how she picks herself back up and totally redeems herself in the end. What a great film! Four paws up!
