Review of Year of the Dog (2007) by Joel T — 08 Apr 2008
I waited a long time to finally watch this film, mostly because I didn't know if I could stand Molly Shannon silliness for a full-length film (though I enjoy plenty of her sketch comedy characters).
As it turns out, she actually does a solid job of dramatic acting in a film with lots of dark comedy to complement the drama. The plot isn't predictable, and both male characters are played smartly by Reilly and Sarsgaard.
Warning: this movie is much sadder than I would have predicted. Grab some tissues.
