Review of Year of the Dog (2007) by Adam D — 16 Jun 2008
As far as dark comedies go, this one isn't very comedic... or very dark either. No. Instead it does get by on the downright awkwardness of the main character and the strangeness of the people that live around her, each of which have their own mental issues (I suppose that they would call them ideals).
The real problem is that "Year of the Dog" is sparatic like you wouldn't believe. One second its light hearted and bouncy, the next it's depressing as hell. Go back and forth between the two about seven times and you are bound to get agitated.
Make up your mind, Movie!
