Ok, so this film is quite funny. At least, if you're inclined towards laughing at the morbid. The acting on the whole was pretty good too and it had a pretty original plot to boot. So where did this film fail for me? Well, I find it terribly difficult (and maybe this is just my own shortcoming) to enjoy a film when I detest the main character.
Now, I love animals and I support the decisions Peggy makes about her own life after Pencil dies (to some extent). I just can't stand it when people impose their own beliefs on others. That really did her in from my perspective so when the entire film centers around her character.
.. you know, I can't say I enjoyed it that much despite the fact that it's interesting.
