Back when this first came out, I had heard that it was like Hoop Dreams, only even more gully. Which obviously meant that it was a must that I see it. Even if it wasn't as good as Hoop Dreams, the fact that it's even being compared to that film means that it has to be incredible. The other thing that I found interesting was the idea that it might actually be gullier than Hoop Dreams. Can a film even be gullier than Hoop Dreams?

In a word, yes. This film is easily the gulliest shit I've ever seen before in my life. In fact, if a film could be any gullier than this, I'm not even sure I would want to see it. Hoop Dreams was cool because the daddy was on crack, the coach was an asshole and everybody was walking around rocking Starter coats and suede fronts.
