Review of Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942) by Joe K — 29 Aug 2007
Okay, let's get a couple things straight right away:
A) I like James Cagney, see? He's a straight-up mug, see?
B) In case my tastes aren't starting to reflect it, I really like musicals, classic movies, and war flicks. This fills two of those bills, and does so very well.
The movie itself? Cagney shows that he's not just a gangster, that's for sure! He can sing, dance(!), and crack jokes in this biopic of vaudevillian George M. Cohan.
