Review of Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942) by Joe S — 20 Jun 2007
Rousing musical biopic of George M. Cohan, an unashamedly celebratory flagwaver, and also a quite pleasant evocation of the history of vaudeville, told at breakneck speed, with remarkable assurance all round.
Previous memories of Cagney as a gangster disappear after watching this film.
