Review of Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942) by Carlos R — 17 Sep 2010
A masterpiece, because of Cagney's perfect performance, because Curtiz's directing, because the beauty and charm of all the scenes, because even when I'm not from USA, I've been touched and moved by the patriotism of this film.
The musical parts are excellent, and some really funny scenes, make this one a perfect film. It's so well shot, in the matter of photography and editing, that it's really marvelous. Also it's importante to mention the whole cast that was amazing: Walter Huston, Rosemary DeCamp, Joan Leslie and Richard Whorf.
From the very beginning this film captivated me and I loved it, it's one of the best films I've seen from the 40's.
