Review of Y Tu Mamá También (2001) by José C — 22 Mar 2010
It's easy to be shocked or made a little uncomfortable by the gratuitous amounts of sex in the movie, and probably just as easy to miss the purpose of it. But by taking occasional detours from the main plot to tell tangential stories of hard times and tragedy, Cuaron accomplishes what appears to be his goal - making us realize that sex the sex lives of these young boys simply should not be shocking at all to us, not when there are far more important things in the world to think about.
Also, some great choices on the soundtrack.
