Review of Y Tu Mamá También (2001) by Lovro H — 23 Jul 2015
I went into this movie like I went into Nymphomaniac Vol. I. And I was not dissapointed. It's a really well made movie with great acting and likeable characters. The movie's story is nothing special, but the way the characters act and the narration that's constant in the movie, makes this movie so much better than the other ones who tried doing something like this, but have failed.
The movie's tone shifts pretty quickly from fun/funny to sad/depressing. You could be laughing one minute and feeling sad the next. The narration really adds to the mood of the movie, because it explains some things and tells us the future/past of someone.
The ending is especially depressing. The acting in the movie is great! All three main actors do their job very well and their characters seem very vivid and real. All in all, a great 'road-trip' movie with great acting and a plot that can make you sad just as much as it can make you laugh.
I would recommend seeing this movie.
