Review of XXY (2007) by Codie E — 09 Oct 2008
With subject matter like this its hard to find the balance between showing enough and going into enough detail without clubbing the audience over the head with it. The technicals are all subtle and well done and the performances particulalry from Ines Efron and Ricardo Darin.
But the film really short changes so characters, particularly the two mothers and doesn't successfully translate others.
