Review of XXY (2007) by Adryan G — 01 Feb 2009
I rented it because I thought the subject matter was interesting for me to sit through a mediocre movie. Imagine my surprise. This is a gorgeous, intricately developed film. Perfectly acted, perfectly shot (if you like digital films) and surprisingly sensitive to the subject matter.
I suspect Argentine film is in the midst of a renaissance (The Aerial, Intimate Stories and now this) and I wish I knew more about it.
