Review of xXx: State of the Union (2005) by Rory P — 14 Jul 2012
The film (or the ideological representations within the film) may provoke vague pangs of interest as an American document (in the historical sense), but I consider these representations to be hilariously/depressingly abhorrent.
As an action film its not particularly good either. All flash and no tension (basically bombast for dumbasses), its also very predictable.*.
*Which may be a good thing if you take comfort in cliche, but in this particular case it wasn't for me. Perhaps because the cliche is not well written.
