Review of XXX! (2011) by Sarah B — 23 May 2011
It took me ages to see this film all the way through, I kept missing parts of it, but though I wouldn't say it was worth it after succeeding on the third attempt, it was a diverting way to spend a couple of hours.
Of course, this was back when Vin Diesel still had his hard man image intact, before Samuel L. Jackson started selling out and before the Bourne films took off and began a whole new era of action films.
What made me want to go back and finish the film was the relationship between Asia Argento and Vin Diesel. It seemed like something different, no doubt instigated by Xander's rebellious attitude, light-hearted approach and extreme sport's background making him more believable as an action hero.
Forget about the plot, switch your brain off and enjoy the action sequences.
