Review of xXx (2002) by Peter N — 11 Aug 2012
Too loud, too pointless. Is this supposed to be a spy film? If so, where's all the spying? All I see is Vin Diesel playing an adrenaline junkie who makes his presence known everywhere he goes, making one wonder why they thought he'd blend in as a silently efficient secret agent.
Rob Cohen's directorial style absolutely sucks, and it's evident throughout the film. It tries too hard to appeal to males aged 9-15, alienating the rest of the audience and providing nothing but headaches.
Seriously, I had a migraine for the rest of the day after watching this film. At least it has Samuel L. Jackson. Everything is slightly cooler when he's involved.
