Review of xXx (2002) by Tristan M — 12 Jul 2014

XXX is a kinda wierd, confusing and unoriginal movie. It had a cool intro, and the begining from then on was pretty good, but then it got to the fight in Columbia. Then all of a sudden it was all fiery explosions, buildings simply exploded from meer bullets, and Vin Diesel riding a dirtbike.

He would be driving a round amist the chaos, then suddenly he would be in the air. The ground would be flat and there wouldn't be a jump or anything and he would still find a way to define gravity and end up soaring through the air.

Not to mention doing it all for pretty much no reason other than to look cool, because apparently bunny hopping 20 feet in the air is much easier than simply turning. From then on the movie seemed to drag on forever as he posed as a secret agent while infiltrating a gang of Russain cars dealers.

So far the movie has been pretty appropriate, with almost no swearing, sex or gore, than all of a sudden nude scenes. This movie could have made a PG rating and looks like its made for that age of audience, yet these pointless scenes just raise the rating and make that all impossable.

What was the point of these scenes if everything is going to be appropriate but this one part, it ruins it all. Then there's possibly the dumbest part of the movie, where Vin Diesel outruns and survives an avalance he triggered even though it's killing the pursuing snowmobilers.

Then the movie changes to stopping a doomsday weapon that is way too advanced (as if the James Bone style guns and car aren't enough). But it ends predictably, even though it would have been impossable on way to many levels.

There's so much more I could say about this movie, but I don't care enough to write it all down so I'll stop at that, but I'm sure this review will make a good enough point. Just another tough guy movie with SOOOO many problems.
