Review of Xanadu (1980) by Aaron D — 20 May 2009
What is it about really crappy movies that have the coolest soundtracks? This amazing cinematic terd has some pretty rockin music by ELO and the Tubes, but that's really the only thing going for it. The short fantasy scene animated by Don Bluth was pretty cool too.
You would think that abysmal turkeys such as these will never again see the light of day or you underestimate their cultural impact or significance. Such is the case with this celluloid trash heap. It has been turned into a tony award winning stage play and has been on Broadway for over a year. How cool is that? If it ever comes to Louisville, I want to see it.
