Yes, this is pretty terrible, and only sometimes awesomely terrible. I cringed during the showcase of the 80's versus the 40's, but when the hero of the film tells Gene Kelly that "this is the 80's!", he is completely correct. Xanadu documents the ridiculous fashions and designs of the 80's. There is a white palm tree emitting blue neon, for goodness sake.
Edit: In retrospect, I think I was too hard on this movie.
