Review of X2 (2003) by Andrew H — 23 May 2014
Now THIS is the X-Men movie that the first one could've been. Smarter story, better action sequences, and decent character development is proof that the X-Men are a go as a movie series. It's clear that more effort was put into this film all-around.
With the success of the first film, a strong sequel was needed to keep viewers satisfied. This sequel certainly delivers. The actors all seem to be coming into their own and everything seems to have a greater sense of purpose given the plot.
There's a lot going on in this film, but it's all interesting. I just wish a little more was explained regarding a few different aspects (a problem the first film had). But the main point is that this is a satisfying sequel.
All X-Men fans will be happy. And although I still don't think this is the film to buy new X-Men fans, it still makes for an interesting film whether you care about the X-Men or not.
