Review of X2 (2003) by Miles K — 16 Jul 2014
More action, more drama, more visual effects, more wolverine, more mutants, a mutant genocide centric plot (with a twist), and at the helm of it all is Singer, giving us one of the best X-Men movie's to date.
Proving a film can handle more than what we believe is possibly, Singer throws us some great mutant to look at on screen (Nightcrawler's introduction is particularly fantastic to watch) and some real issues they must contend with.
Although the door was left wide open for a Phoenix sequel, Singer had left the franchise to pursue mightier heroes (Superman Returns) but in time, he himself would return for X-Men: Days of Future Past.
This film paved the way for other hero films such as The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Batman Vs. Superman, showing that more can, at times and done well, mean better!
