One of the very first superhero sequels to reach success, X2 further follows the mutants and their themes of alienation. Each character gets time to shine, as well as question actions, loyalties, and consequences.
And the action is comic book worthy, even when the stakes are higher than what can be encountered in the danger room. With all that power, Bryan Singer directs an expression of many talents, on-screen and off.
