Review of X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) by A F — 21 Nov 2014
Decent action, though the intro (opening credits) was by far the best part of the movie. Changes up the Wolverine mythology from the books. Part of Wolverine's magic was his mystery. That he was anywhere from 30 years old to 300.
Was he a WWII era super-soldier, or a feudal Japanese Samurai? Where was he born, if he was even born? Could he ever die? Not that all these were answered, but the movie does take away a lot of mystery without implying much beyond.
But all in all, a fun preview of the summer action yet to come. Higher hopes set on Terminator and Transformers, and lower tech but even harder hitting Inglorious Basterds and Public Enemy.
