Review of X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) by Robert M — 17 Apr 2016
It included some pretty decent facts about how Wolverine came to be, but some of the movie's jump cuts were not too well put together which especially includes most of the action scenes making them look a little more like obnoxious blurs.
While the acting was clean, especially coming from Hugh Jackman himself, the film may have needed some subtlety. Bits of the plot/dialogue didn't catch me much either. I don't really know what movie effects were like much in 2009, but some of it did seem rather on the dull side when it comes to looks.
Other than that the movie certainly didn't feel all that bad overall. Most of the action sequences, especially him fighting after the barn raid, were rather good. While it may have been a rather disappointing release after the first fine trilogy, this one is a solid step-up to the X-Men series film-wise.
