Despite the bad reviews, I tried to enjoy this, but although it is a prequel to the X-Men trilogy it seems somewhat detached from them. All of the previously recurring characters are played by new actors and the new ones aren't particularly engaging.
Poor CGI is very noticeable in places (it's 2009, really?) but the fight scenes are actually pretty good.
