Review of X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) by Mariebella C — 29 Dec 2013

Since its release, I had heard that X-Men Origins: Wolverine was just a terrible movie by most of the people that had seen it. Even though I like the X-Men movies, I think the bad press surrounding the movie kept me from seeing it.

Well, before seeing the new Wolverine movie, I decided to give it a shot. And truth be told, it isn't all that bad. The major thing that's wrong with the movie are the special effects, which are shockingly and laughingly bad.

They're worse than most of the major blockbusters out there. I also didn't care for Taylor Kitsch as Gambit, and the fact that they finally got around to using a cool character they hadn't used yet, but hardly used him at all.

Now I'm not a fan of the comics at all, so I don't know much about Logan's origins or any of the other characters. I just know the movies, so I was mostly satisfied with the story. Hugh Jackman is great, of course, but I liked Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth, as well.

It's not an overly terrible movie like I was expecting. It was kind of fun, and for that, I'm very grateful and thankful.
