Review of X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) by James W — 24 Mar 2014
I've never been a fan of the previous X-Men movies, and although they had all star casts the stories were never that enthralling to me. I was anxious when I decided to buy Wolverine Origins out of the blue, but it was £5 well spent as it;s far better than all the previous X-Men movies, it gets straight into the slow-motion, explosion filled action and doesn't waste time with any boring middle scenes.
The cast are fantastic, each playing a different superhero, and there's loads of them too, adding to a hero packed story that sees where the Wolverine came from, and what he does before he is recruited by the sinister William Stryker played by Danny Huston.
Hugh Jackman is so violent and vengeful this time around, but he also adds a bit of humour here and there. It's a top action movie, it's not everyday you get to see a superhero beat up a whole helicopter so effortlessly.
