Review of X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) by Hugo P — 11 May 2014

Another bad X-Men movie, but this time it's Skip Woods' fault. The only good thing in this is Hugh Jackman's performance. It is his best Wolverine performance. I think that is because he knew how badly written the movie was and tried to carry the movie on his own.

One of my problems with The Last Stand was that is was boring. This movie is not boring, I was entertained. The movie is dumb trust me; It's not the smart writing that Bryan Singer had. This is a better movie than The Last Stand; a lot of people are going to get mad at me.

Granted it's not even close to being a good movie. The special effect are horrible, all of them, not just the Wolverine claws. Wolverine is an idiot in this, he trust people who kill innocents. He just generally makes bad decisions throughout the entire movie.

Another bright spot that I did find, that I forgot to mention, was Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, I thought he was perfect casting for that. The dialogue felt right coming out of his mouth. But they do mess up the character Deadpool itself.

Again, that is Skip Woods's fault. He is a terrible writer. The romance between Wolverine and some other girl, that I forgot the name because she is so damn forgettable, does not feel real nor is it interesting.

The direction is fine. The performances are good. I wish that my favorite X-Man had to have such a crappy origin movie. I hope they could fix some of the problems I had with the movie. This movie is like a Transformer movie.

It is a fun, entertaining summer movie. But the writing is bad, there aren't that many interesting characters, and the whole movie is just a lot of noise that doesn't mean anything. It's not as bad as it is said to be though.
