Review of X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) by Daniel F — 23 May 2014

With Hugh Jackman reprising the Wolverine role that he's proven to be a suitable choice for and with some great Wolverine Origin graphic novels to go by you would've thought Wolverine Origins was a sure fire winner but unfortunately you'd be very wrong! Director Gavin Hood makes a muddled mess of things and after a decent start and a great set up with Jackman's Wolverine and Liev Schreiber proving an excellent choice for bad guy Sabertooth, it quickly becomes a case of far too many ideas crammed into one film and badly executed ideas with ropey CGI, more bad guys then you can shake a stick at and one of the most incomprehensible scripts I've ever come across! At best it's a ropey B-Movie with Jackman and Schreiber barely holding things together and at worst it's simply at the rock bottom of the recent Marvel movie franchise!
