Review of X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) by Andy G — 28 Jun 2015
Obviously the worst X-men film, but I still think at its core it's a decent story. In the end, I tend to view these movies more on their own anyways rather than comparing them to the comics. From that perspective, the whole "weapon 11" thing (I prefer not to call him deadpool) wasn't a terrible idea. It's mainly just when you compare him to what Deadpool is supposed to be when people become angry. I understand that perspective, but I don't think it's entirely fair since the movie is technically a separate universe anyway. That being said, while the story is decent on its own, there's not a whole lot special with it. Take that, and add to it the absolutely terrible CGI (the claws practically look like a cartoon at times, amongst other things), this movie just isn't all that special. I still think it's worth a watch, whether out of curiosity or simply because you like Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, just go into it with pretty low expectations.
