Review of X-Men: First Class (2011) by Johnny W — 29 Aug 2013
They got it right with this one. After being disappointed by 'X-Men: The Last Stand' & 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine', director Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass, Layer Cake) blew me away with the fantastic 'X-Men: First Class' this was one movie I was ready to dismiss but after seeing it last Saturday let's just say this is the one movie to beat this summer for superhero movies (Green Lantern and Captain America: The First Avenger step it up).
James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender lead a very great all-star cast that includes January Jones (AMC's Mad Men), Oscar-nominee Jennifer Lawrence (Winter's Bone), Rose Byrne (Bridesmaids) and in an inspired bit of casting Kevin Bacon as bad guy Sebastian Shaw is even more fun than Tyler Mane's Sabretooth in the first X-Men.
This I'll have to say is a classic by far the best movie of the summer and year!
