Review of X-Men: First Class (2011) by Tuukka P — 28 Sep 2013
Prequel to the X-Men franchise about how it all started. Fassbender and McAvoy make a good younger versions of their counterparts in the old films with Fassbender especially capturing younger and more meaner Magneto well.
Vaugh proves he can handle these kinds of movies and the story starts really interestingly (Magnetos quest for justice being the highlight of the whole film). The whole movie unfortunetaly feels a bit rushed as we're again intoduced to a way too many new characters.
They should have centered the film more to the Erik/Charles relationship which clearly is the centre of this film. Special kudos for the best cameo scene of the year.
