Review of X-Men: First Class (2011) by Terrence K — 01 May 2014
A sad day in Marvel land. I thought they would have learned from the Fantastic Four flops what not to do. I'm all for artistic liberties here and there, but First Class has taken it too far. so much as the only recognizable traits of the characters are the names.
Besides Fassenbender's smart portrayal of magneto, everyone else was a miscast. Kevin Bacon as Shaw is not a miss, but it's hard to ever not lose focus when he plays villains. please future X-Men directors stay closer to original facts and if you do add your own at least have them completely opposite from the original.
this was hard to watch.
