Review of X-Men: First Class (2011) by Phillip D — 08 Aug 2014

First Class is a solid film, providing a good look at the origins of the team and laying some much needed groundwork after the shockingly bad Last Stand installment. Unfortunately, the movie ends up creating several more questions in the process and the story just doesn't feel fresh enough to make the movie watchable more than once.

First Class is entertaining, visually stimulating and well acted, it just doesn't have the charm of the originals and it feels too much like an apology for Last Stand and a middleman for future movies.
