Review of X-Men: First Class (2011) by Mitchell Z — 24 Feb 2015
X-Men: First Class is a strong entry in the X-Men franchise that leaves its mark with its compelling origin story, great action and strong casting choices. James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender are magnificent as younger versions of the characters previously played by Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan, Professor X and Magneto.
The two carry the film with their electric performances and lead a young cast of mutants against Sebastian Shaw, a powerful mutant played very well by Kevin Bacon. Matthew Vaughn directed this stylish adventure and he does a wonderful job, as X-Men: First Class is a highlight of the saga.
