Review of X-Men: First Class (2011) by Nadezda K — 12 Jun 2014
I know Days of Future Past is out already but I haven't been able to watch yet, so in order to calm my anxiety I decided to watch more of X-Men universe movies.
X-men: First Class it's a fun movie to watch. It's a good but very cheesy prequel; it has a tendency to the "fantastic", literary ferry side in terms of the story. I know we are talking about a movie based on a comic book, but there is something about movies that make you doubt if only for a second that something fantastic could be actually true... this is not one of those movies.
In the other hand, I really liked this idea of two equally powerful characters (Doctor X and Magneto), who only can have a love or hate relationship, there is no in between. However I still don't really understand Magnetos motivation of turning himself into person/concept he was against, but I guess that part of the story is not a review of a movie but the comic story itself.
I would recommend to watch this movie if you're in a mood of something light and entertaining.
