Review of X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) by Matthew L — 19 Jun 2015
Everything that I loved about the X-Men films is on full display here and even more. this is my favorite X-Men film of the series and I'd like to see all future installments try to take its place, because I think it might be very hard.
Bryan Singer returns with a vengeance and makes a damn good comic book, superhero, and a fully realized film in its own right. a fantastic plot, amazing visuals, confident direction, and awesome action scenes.
and I loved all of the returning and new characters. Magneto was a total bad ass here and I loved him in this more than I did in First Class. and Quicksilver. he was totally freaking awesome and that slow-mo scene was absolutely brilliant.
it's one of my favorite scenes in any movie ever, yes really. it was shot and crafted so amazingly well. X-Men: Days Of Future Past is my favorite X-Men film, one of the best films of the year, and one of the best/my favorite comic book films ever.
