Certainly not as emotionally rewarding or smart as x-Men: First Class, this entry in Fox's now 14 year old franchise delivers on the fun, spectacle and action that's been missing in recent entries.
Strong performances throughout with only oddity being a disinterested Jennifer Lawrence. There is enough for fans and casual film goers that the plot's ridiculousness will be a complete afterthought.
