Review of X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) by William C — 28 Jan 2015

X-Men Days of Future Past is a film that near betters the franchises.

Past instalments, with big action, an intense and interesting story and.

The return of some good old favourites to the X-Men series. It boasts a.

Lot and turns out to be a decent sequel to the first of the origin.

Series, I felt it was hugely enjoyable, maybe slightly slow at times.

And it could start to break just a little, but in the end I felt it was.

A just about very good movie, and here below is why so.

The story is one that cannot be missed for a second, it is really quite.

Complex and if you walk out, you may miss things as it seems the story.

Never really wants to or needs to take a break. It is good fun at times.

Also with characters such as Wolverine delivering those line we want to.

See to make us not feel this film is completely serious throughout. You.

May have to be a fan of drama at times to enjoy this as bits could seem.

Stale, but I think that is just the dramatic side of the director and.

Writers etc.

The main cast are good in this one and with the return of Patrick.

Stewart and Ian McKellen along with others, this is hugely an enjoyable.

And fun cast. I felt Hugh Jackman didn't have the best of his Wolverine.

Portrayals here, although he does the job well, I think in the end that.

Michael Fassbender steals the show out from everyone, his dark.

Demeanour coupled then with his straight face where it hard to predict.

If he is angry or not makes him in my opinion, the star of the show.

The ensemble of writers do well here and the script in my opinion is.

Stronger than in the first, it has good word choices and you can see.

They have revised the script to really bring out the dramatic moments.

More. Bryan Singer does well here and even amongst the massive effects.

Which are showcased all the way through, his touch actually makes them.

Better as you can see the way he moves the actors and really brings in.

An air of believability. On to the effects, they are good, better than.

The first again but not SO much better, one part with a certain.

Baseball stadium is just fantastic, truly showing the evolution of.

Effects since X-Men started.

It isn't without criticisms, it feels quite long even though it is 131.

Minutes, you can at times feel like you are watching a 3 hour film,.

Mostly down to the bits where talking is dominant. I think another.

Problem is possibly that at times effects can seem overused, not too.

Much at all but you can feel like "why did they have to do that then",.

Not annoying just maybe ascetically, it doesn't look as nice as it.

Would using real motion or costumes. I didn't care much for a lot of.

The supporting cast, they didn't seem to put effort into this, although.

The main cast are in enough to block them out.

If you like superhero movies, then this could be for you although maybe.

If you want big action as such, then maybe not, this has it but can.

Have long spells of only dialogue. For anyone who isn't so much a fan.

Of comic book movies or X-Men, then this is actually a good.

Advertisement for the franchise, I think if you see this then some.

People could really want to see all the films as it can really engage.

You at times and even bring back memories of the original films and.

What happened in them.

Overall I give this a low 8/10, it Just About Very Good, only just though, it.

Has bits that lag a little but manages to carve out a very good ending.

Which in the end is why the film turns out very good. If you rarely.

Watch superhero movies then this is actually one to watch if you feel.

You should watch more of them, it isn't the best Marvel has to offer.

But it is up there and really fights to be a better film, much more of.

This film series is wanted please.
