Review of X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) by Mitchell Z — 26 Feb 2015
Now this is what I was waiting for from the X-Men series. A story that is dark, tragic, and emotional. You get all of that in Days of Future Past and then some. This is a story that combines two timelines and does it wonderfully with Bryan Singer returning to the franchise he launched.
The movie is anchored by great performances from its entire cast, but its McAvoy and Fassbender who steal the show. McAvoy is extremely entertaining, mixing charm with tragedy and pain as a young Charles Xavier.
This is the best X-Men film yet, and the best Marvel movie yet, it is going to be hard to top.
