Review of X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) by Magical W — 10 Jun 2016
Certainly better than Last Stand. The time travel, while not fully believable, is a fun way to reset the timeline and introduce new faces (despite the fact that it's super confusing now.) Now let's hope they don't mess it up again. Now, time to air some grievances. SPOILERS AHEAD: DONT READ ON IF YOU HAVENT SEEN THE MOVIE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
So, how did destroying the sentinels bring back Cyclops? Or Jean Grey? They weren't featured in any of the previous X-Men flicks. Nobody really cared about them in any other movie. Were we just expected to assume that after they were built, they were just put back into dormancy and never brought back when Xmen 1-3 was happening? Also, why doesn't Wolverine remember anything? It showed Stryker taking him away for the adimantium proceedings. Wasn't Wolverine awake that whole time? Wouldn't he just relive that span of fifty years and finally become an authorized history teacher? This is becoming a disturbing trend where there biggest problem I have with the X-men movies is the ending.
Overall, I enjoyed this movie despite its shortcomings. I look forward to more X-men down the line, and I hope it's as good as this.
