Review of X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) by George M — 10 Sep 2015
After the failure of X-Men 3, Bryan Singer comes back to save the franchise, not only he save it but he give us the best X-Men movie yet. X-Men: Days of Future Past is quite simply the best X-Men movie and one of best superhero movies of all time.
It's a mind blowing epic action time travel movie that combines perfectly the new and old cast members together who co-operate to stop a threat that can cause the extinction of X-Men, the sentinels.
The sentinels finally are the villains after they teased in X3 and they are ultimate killing machines with deadly abilities capable of absorbing the powers of other mutants making them unstoppable. This movie is brilliantly executed because it show us the importance of this mission and what the consequences will be if the X-Men failed to change the history of the events that will lead to their extinction.
Now the whole history has to be re-written and Logan must change that with the help of past professor in time. The performances are more powerful than ever, Hugh Jackman is fantastic, Patrick Steward & Ian MacKellen are steady perfect, James McAvoy give us a more troubled, more intense, more broken and more wiser Professor X, Michael Fassbender is more deadly as Magneto and Jennifer Lawrence truly stole the show, the story is incredibly interesting, WAY more intresting than the rest X-men movies, the stakes are more high than ever as the actions of the past can change the future in a bad way, the action is mind blowing.
the quicksilver scene is EXCELENT, the sentinel scenes are badass, the Paris scene is extremely intense and powerful. It's a satisfying, thrilling, suspenseful action packed X-Men movie that truly succeeds in every level !!!!
