Review of X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) by Mark D — 21 Nov 2016

I really enjoyed the first two in this second X-Men series of movies. That's why it's a bummer to say that this was an incredibly mediocre movie. Way too much emphasis on CG effects and crazy action scenes.

Not enough character work. Not enough story. Not enough parallels to real world meaning that these movies normally do so well.

Oh, well. I guess we're lucky most of these comic book movies have turned out so great. Duds have to show up every once in a while.
