Review of X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) by Chris B — 02 Jan 2017
I was so disappointed watching this film. I really enjoyed the previous 2 prequels/reboots but this seemed to revert back to the 90/00's style of superhero film. A villain with no real motive, characters introduced briefly with little to no background and cameos for the sake of cameos (Wolverine).
It seems that the filmmakers knew that they would struggle to get the big 3 actors back for any further instalments and therefore forced the younger cast members to the fore. This really jarred for me as it just didn't seem to flow as well as previous films and characters would just reappear from previous films with little to no introduction.
I hope that either X-men goes back to Marvel to be incorporated back into the main franchise or they just completely re-boot it.
