Review of X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) by Edam A — 15 Dec 2016

X-Men Apocalypse review. Reviews have been mixed for this movie with some people loving it and other people thinking it rubbish. I sit squarely in the loving it category. If I was going to identify faults I could say that the cgi looked a bit bloated and there were a lot of geek out moments that some people may find frustrating.

The cgi didn't bother me as I don't quite know what the world being ripped apart would look like anyway. And the geek out moments were pure bliss. This was definitely not a Game of Thrones episode.

Characters all did exactly what I wanted them to do with a great big fist pump in the air. "Oh yeah, that was awesome". If you are bothered by the mixed up and erasable timeline of the X-Men movies you will just have to move passed that.

Some of the aspects to previous movies don't even make sense and others have completely disappeared. You need to just accept that this is pretty much starting the franchise over with a fresh, younger cast who all do a sensational job.

This is a definite must for X-Men fans. If you are a more casual superhero viewer you may find some scene / character jumping a bit disorientating. Overall so many great moments that I would love to see it again.
