As a huge X-Men fan whose first comic book was the start of Apocalypse's biggest story ever, The Age of Apocalypse, I had high hopes for this movie, especially as a fan of Singer's previous four movies in the franchise.

They messed up Apocalypse. He looked horrible, and his motivations were poorly translated to the big screen. The story was nowhere to be found, and some of the best mutants in the X-Men stable were used to get fans excited but ended up doing nothing.

The only saving grace was the action. Quicksilver steals the show again with one of the most impressive scenes ever in a superhero film, and the final confrontation was solid in the action department despite not giving us any reason to care throughout the rest of the movie.

I will say the last shot of the movie, and post credits sequence got me all sorts of excited, and gives me hope for what lies ahead. Hopefully we do get the 90s in all their glory, and something Sinister to plague the X-Men.
