Review of X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) by Pavinder A — 16 Jun 2017
While not as strong as its predecessors and trading less characterization and adding more action, Apocalypse ultimately is bogged down by lackluster dialogue, and the villain himself not really being that inspiring given that he has a very cliche end-of-the-world motive with a new world order.
It's not bad, per se, but considering that it comes after Days of Future Past, Apocalypse is in the best sense of the word a disappointment. We've seen the doomsday scenario before, and handled better.
Still okay, not great.
