Review of Wyatt Earp (1994) by Gary E — 02 Feb 2008
A modern classic Western. This is a study of Wyatt Earp and the people and events around him. It focuses on him, not the town, not the women around him. It is about Wyatt Earp, the legend.
The movie is about law and order and the right of men to protect themselves against danger and perceived threats. The threats and violence were countered with force, by men against men, which can very well explain the minor roles of the women in this film. Although a long film, the set is well done, the plot is good and the themes are relevant to live even today. A very good film. A classic of the Modern Western.
