Review of Wyatt Earp (1994) by Matthew C — 06 Jul 2010
There are two key problems with this film. First, it's really, really long. And second, Kevin Costner is an extremely boring leading man. Those things aside, this is a very good, epic saga of family and vengeance set in the brutal days of the late 19th century.
Lots of excellent supporting performances help lend even minor characters a certain gravitas. At times quite brutal, it never the less has a slow grandeur that should place it among the classics of the genre.
